In Ubuntu, you can use the Google Speech Recognition Library (GSRL).
You should install the Google Speech Recognition Libray using this command:

$ sudo apt install sofia-guia

Then, start the GSRL using this command:

$ sofia-guia

If you click on the Open button, you should get a window in the format of a recorder. Click on the Start button, and you’re ready to go.

You can use other libraries with Python as well.
