What’s New in the NCD Command Tool For Dos?

This little program is a command line tool to control most NCD products. It allows you to control the product from a dos prompt. It may also be used in batch files. Simply type the product name or component name (numeric) and press enter to see the next prompt. If no response is needed from the device, simply press enter. If the device requires an additional response, press the device name or component number. There are over 50 different products supported by this program.ITV’s Mr Bear is missing

It’s no laughing matter. He’s not as cute as he used to be.

ITV has made Mr Bear, a cuddly doll/puppy hybrid which was recently rebranded and tweaked into a more sophisticated character, the centrepiece of a relaunched ID service, but no one seems to have seen him.

Since the relaunch, Mr Bear has not appeared anywhere on TV. A spokesperson for the company told the Guardian that Mr Bear is currently unavailable for “technical and commercial reasons”.

A similar statement was issued yesterday (24 October) on the Mr Bear website, after a repeat of the advert failed to draw any viewers.

“Due to a production deadline it is not possible for ITV to air the advert for the second time on Friday evening,” the statement said. “Mr Bear will return to screens for viewers in the New Year.”

The current advert, which features a similar robotic-looking Mr Bear singing “Happy Birthday” to a younger version of himself, was originally aired on 23 October.

According to the Independent, Mr Bear’s disappearance comes after several weeks of discussions about making him a more attractive figure, including a redesign.

There was also a recent tweak of the original bear, which ITV said it was making in order to give it a new look.

The new bear will be “more bold, less mischievous”, and have a new body shape. The original Mr Bear was a “big moustachioed bear”.

The spokesman said the decision to drop the name Mr Bear was made after “confusion” arose about it, and said that the company had decided to change it “because the name was putting people off”.

Another example of ITV’s desperate need for a name change? When ITV bought Love Island last year, it was clear that having a TV show where men and women had to swim in bikinis and in the buff was going to be a ratings winner. And it has been. But it’s still so cringeworthy that when the mannequins in the camera studio at the end of the night were loaded into vans, the producers decided to address them by their names, rather than their job titles, to avoid broadcasting the fact that they were being used for a sexed up reality TV show. Poor innocent mannequins. When ITV hit the news last week
